Lake Bogoria tour is for bird-watching lovers and specifically the flamingos. Lake Bogoria is the best place for birds watching.The lake is alkaline, feeding blue-green algae which in turn feed flamingoes. At times the number of flamingoes feeding in the lake may be as high as two million. Raptors such as tawny eagles prey on the flamingoes. In total, 135 species of bird have been recorded. They include little grebe, pratincole, swift, little bee-eater, cape wigeon, yellow-billed stork, African spoonbill, augur buzzard, gabar goshawk, water dikkop, great tit, starling, hornbill and crombec.The reserve has a herd of the relatively uncommon Greater Kudu. Other large mammals include buffalo, zebra, cheetah, baboon, warthog, caracal, spotted hyena, impala and dik dik.

Nairobi - Lake Baringo

Lake Baringo
Pickup at Hotel, residence or Airport at early in the morning and depart for Bogoria with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for photography and sightseeing. Proceed through the floor of Rift Valley past Naivasha and Nakuru town, head north past the Equator and to Lake Baringo. We arrive at Sandai Resort in Baringo for lunch followed by a relaxing afternoon. You can enjoy the naturally heated swimming pool in the early hrs of the afternoon. At 3.20 PM embark on a boat ride into Lake Baringo. Here you will enjoy seeing the African Fish eagle do the fishing, hippos and crocodiles. Take a guided walk in one of Baringo Island and later at 6.00 PM return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Bogoria
On this day we wake up for breakfast and leave for the nearby Lake Bogoria National Reserve a 1: 30 min drive away. Enjoy watching flamingos for the better part of the afternoon. The lake Bogoria National Reserve is alkaline, feeding blue-green algae which in turn feed flamingoes. At times the number of flamingoes feeding in the lake may be as high as two million. We then leave Lake Bogoria for Nairobi with a lunch break along the way.
